Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt Reviews Outcomes of Its Participation in the Extraordinary General Assembly of the International Federation

The Board of Directors of the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt is pleased to present the key outcomes of the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Macau in June 2025.

• Approval of the performance reports and financial statements of the International Federation of Motor Vehicles and Tourism for the year 2024 (France and Switzerland).

• Approval of the President’s report on the Federation’s 2024 activities, along with several regulatory amendments to further enhance operational efficiency.

• Appointment of Mr. Malcolm Wilson as Vice President of the Federation for Motor Sport Affairs.

• Announcement of the opening of nominations for the Federation’s presidential election and other key positions, scheduled for December 2025.

• Approval of Macau as the host location for the Federation’s Extraordinary General Assemblies in 2026 and 2027, with the first set to take place on 25 June 2026.

Achievements of the Egyptian Delegation Representing the Club

Through its participation in the assembly and side meetings, our club representatives achieved the following:

• Adoption of the decision by the Customs Council, chaired in its first session by the Club’s Vice President, to form two working groups:

  1. One focused on modernizing internal operational systems.

  2. The other dedicated to enhancing the international Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) network.

• Re-proposal of Egypt as a host for the Federation’s General Assembly and the Formula One Awards Ceremony in December 2027, a globally followed event that would elevate Egypt’s tourism sector and the club’s international status.

• Activation of a protocol between the club and the Federation for the training of Egyptian Customs Authority representatives on the rules of the international customs convention, with implementation to begin in Switzerland.

• Coordination of a meeting between international tourism officials, global insurance representatives, and the Egyptian Customs Authority to settle longstanding customs claims efficiently.

• Presentation by the Club’s Vice President during the Motor Sport Session on Egypt’s recent experience organizing an Ice Track Off-Road Vehicle Race, implemented in partnership with Bosla, an officially licensed organizer and under the club’s supervision.

• Continued coordination with the International Federation to develop training systems and motor sport competitions in Egypt, enhancing the club’s local activity offerings.

• Preparation of communication with the Federation regarding the club’s involvement in virtual motor sport competitions (eSports), aiming to attract youth to this safe and modern sport and to foster new generations of members interested in engaging in competitive activities.
