As part of its national and international role as the official and sole representative of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the authorized body responsible for organizing and supervising motorsport activities in the country, the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt took full charge of overseeing the “REV IT UP” Car Racing Championship, held on May 15 and 16, 2025, at the indoor arena of Cairo International Stadium, under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The championship was marked by professional organization and broad participation from Egyptian and Arab racers, in addition to the presence of high-level representatives from the organizing and sponsoring entities. The club’s official delegation at the event included:
Mr. Mohamed Askar – Vice Chairman of the Club
Eng. Raouf Gaafar – Board Member and Head of the Races and Rallies Committee
Ms. Riham Hanna – Board Member and Committee Member
Mr. Wael Abdel Galil – Deputy General Manager, Head of Sports Activities and Motorsport Affairs
Representing the Ministry of Youth and Sports:
Mr. Ahmed Abdel Khaleq – Director General of the Tourism and Sports Events Department at the Ministry
The championship was further honored by the presence of prominent international and regional figures, most notably:
Mr. Essa Hamza Al-Failakawi – President of the Mobility Council for the MENA Region at the FIA, and President of the Kuwait Automobile Club
Mr. Ihab Moussa Mohamed – Representative of Bukhamseen Group (Kuwait) in Egypt, the official sponsor of the championship
The event featured international judges from Jordan, along with racers from Syria, Algeria, and several other Arab countries. Egyptian competitors also showcased exceptional performance, continuing their success in previous regional championships in Jordan, the UAE, and Oman, where they achieved top rankings across the Middle East.
The competition saw intense drift racing action in both the Pro and Semi-Pro categories, with meticulous organization and high technical standards that captivated a large audience of motorsport enthusiasts from Egypt and across the region.
The Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting and developing motorsport in Egypt by providing technical and organizational assistance to all championships and events, in collaboration with official bodies and sponsors, and in alignment with the international standards set by the FIA.
