Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt provides an authorized International Driving License service — an official document that allows holders of a valid Egyptian driving license to drive vehicles in more than 150 countries worldwide.
This license serves as an official translation of the local Egyptian driving license, enabling travelers to legally drive abroad with ease. The Club is the only entity in Egypt authorized to issue international driving licenses in accordance with applicable laws and international conventions.
The service aims to facilitate travel and tourism, offering citizens and residents a safe and internationally recognized means of transportation while abroad.

What is the International Driving Permit (IDP)
The International Driving Permit (IDP) is an official document recognized worldwide. It is issued as a companion to the Egyptian driving license and allows its holder to legally drive vehicles in more than 150 countries around the world.
The Official Issuing Authority in Egypt
Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt is the sole official authority authorized to issue the International Driving Permit (IDP) within the Arab Republic of Egypt, in accordance with traffic laws and international conventions.
Requirements for Obtaining the Permit
- Possession of a valid Egyptian driving license for at least one year.
- Personal attendance of the applicant (no power of attorney is accepted).
- The applicant must be present in Egypt at the time of application.

- صورة من جواز سفر ساري
- عدد 2 صورة شخصية حديثة (4×6 سم)
- بطاقة الرقم القومي (للمصريين)
- سداد الرسوم: 800 جنيه مصري
Validity Period
The permit is valid for one year only from the date of issuance and cannot be renewed — a new permit must be issued each year.
Processing Time
The permit is issued on the same day of application, after verifying and completing all required information and documents.

Important Notice
- The Club warns against dealing with any unauthorized entities claiming to issue international driving permits.
- Any permit issued by an organization other than the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt is considered fraudulent and not internationally recognized, and its holder may be subject to legal consequences abroad.
